Join this live Pre-PA Virtual Shadowing session focused on Emergency Orthopedics, designed to give future PA students an inside look at how orthopedic injuries are evaluated and managed in the emergency department. This session is led by a practicing orthopedic surgery PA with extensive experience in acute trauma and ED consults.
During this virtual shadowing experience, participants will:
Learn how common fractures, dislocations, and acute MSK injuries present in the emergency setting
Walk through a systematic approach to reading orthopedic X-rays
Understand initial ED management, including immobilization, splinting, and when to involve orthopedic surgery
Gain insight into the day-to-day role of a PA in emergency and orthopedic care
Ask questions about PA school, clinical rotations, and careers in orthopedics
This session is ideal for Pre-PA students looking to strengthen their clinical exposure, improve medical literacy, and confidently discuss shadowing experiences during PA school interviews
