Pre-PA Virtual Shadowing: EKG Review
with Cara Beatty, PA-C (New Graduate)
This virtual Pre-PA shadowing session provides an inside look at how physician assistants approach EKG interpretation in clinical practice. Led by Cara Beatty, PA-C, this session is designed to help pre-PA students understand how EKGs are used to evaluate patients, guide clinical decision-making, and identify urgent cardiac conditions.
Participants will review common EKG findings encountered in real clinical settings, including basic rhythm interpretation, rate and interval assessment, and recognition of concerning patterns that require prompt evaluation. Emphasis is placed on developing a structured approach to EKGs, clinical reasoning, and understanding how PAs apply this skill in everyday patient care.
This session is ideal for pre-PA students seeking early exposure to clinical reasoning, cardiovascular fundamentals, and the practical application of EKG interpretation within the PA role.
